We hope this blog will be used as a reference for Building Owners, GC and Architects to understand the intentions of low bidders and that all Restoration contractors should not be compared or categorized on the same level, especially with regards to ethics.
One Unqualified contractor simply put an advertisement in the Yellow pages years ago, hired "Temp" labor and has been damaging buildings around VT for years. He has qualified himself.
Now his previous employees have branched off and created a Restoration Company by the same means, a Yellow Page ad. Simple, you get what you pay for, incompetence.
Restoration is not remodeling or closely related to regular masonry trades.
It's a complicated technical field. A capable Restoration Contractor provides a daily safety net that is there to uphold the preordained specifications. It's the Restoration Contractor to raise concerns and to establish the right method and procedure when complicated issues arise. The best prepared specifications cannot and do not cover the unforeseen.
